Community Celebrates the 10,000 Daffodil Bulbs Planted last Year
A Celebration of the Daffodil Bulbs in Eastview Park

Susan and Thomas Rowley, Lisa and Karl Bieley, and Patti Fox along with other members of the CCA Executive joined in the celebration. The Principal and many of the teachers from East View School also attended.Over 75 volunteers helped plant the 10,000 bulbs that are now blooming in bright colours.

Hundreds of West Hill residents came out to meet Mark Cullen and the Deputy Mayor who broadcast Mark's gardening show live from Eastview Park. The celebration was helped along by one of the warmest spring days of the year.

The celebration was fueled by the hot dogs and drinks provided by the Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation. Volunteers from Toronto East Storefront served hundreds of hot dogs.

Arthur Beauregard for the Parks and Trees Foundation thanked Mark Cullen and Deputy Mayor Pantolone for their participation. Ward 44 Council Ron Moeser was also on hand. Ward 43 Councilor Paul Ainslie was out of town on a trip but sent his best wishes for the day and provided your CCA and other contributing organizations with official citations of the City's gratitude for our help.

Members of the Police and Fire Departments also came out to help the community celebrate. Ed and Bess King staffed the CCA table signing up many new members. CCA want to thank the members of 43 Division and the Fire Brigade from Station 234 for their community spirit and their participation.

It was hard to know whether the children enjoyed the hot dogs or the tug of war the most. But one thing is certain the daffodil bulbs provded by Toronto Parks and Trees will add beauty to Eastview Park for years to come.

Special guests at the event were gardening expert Mark Cullen and Deputy Mayor Joe Panalone. Mark broadcast his radio show from the event.

The CCA was launched on October 3rd, 2005 at a general meeting for the entire community and our Executive was selected on October 26th. Please consider becoming a member and helping us with our work in your community. Membership cost only $10 per household per year.BECOME A MEMBER
