CCA members play a significant role in 43 Division BBQ & Open House
It had threatened Rain but the day turned out to be very pleasant with moderate temperatures attracting more than double the anticipated crowds
The Coronation Community Association joined other Community Associations in providing volunteers for the day and our booth attracted considerable interest. Thanks to the new members who showed up and the current members who dropped by to say hello
Even 43 Division Superintendant Gottschalk stopped by our table to say thanks and wish us well..
Police Cars, Emergency Measures Vehicles, motorcyces, bikes and antique fire trucks were on display. But it was the police horses that got the most attention. Although the antique 1947 fire truck was one of the stars of the day.
More than 2000 people attended the event. The food and drinks held out, but only just! The line ups were long but but there was a happy excitement in the air. Even the Toronto Maple Leaf's mascot came out to help.
Children were treated to face painting, a bouncing tent and free popcorn along with getting a tour of the police station and getting to ring the fire truck bell.
By two o'clock the barbeque was over and the clean up was begun. By four oclock our volunteers headed home to a well earned rest. Thanks to Robert, Ron, Bess, Christine, Ed, Barry and Linda for volunteering their time and helping make the day such a success. Perhaps we'll see you there next year?
The CCA was launched on October 3rd, 2005 at a general meeting for the entire community and our Executive was selected on October 26th. Please consider becoming a member and helping us with our work in your community. Membership cost only $10 per household per year.BECOME A MEMBER
