Neighbours met to begin to
build a Strong, Healthy and Peaceful Community
At the standing room
only meeting at the Boys & Girls Club on Galloway Road, area
residents gathered to share concerns about the level of criminal
activity in the neighbourhood and to give approval to the formation
of the Coronation Community Association. Eight members of the
audience agreed to form a Community Association Executive.
City Councillor David
Soknacki addressed the meeting expressing his appreciation for the
turn out and his concern about the problems the neighbourhood has
been experiencing. He was delighted at the prospect of a Community
Association forming in this area.
City Councillor Gay
Cowbourne echoed David's comments and brought residents up to date on
the current fate of the Morningside Mall. Ron Rock of the Boys &
Girls Club pledged to assist the community in anyway possible while
PC Gord Hayford awaits his turn to speak.
The CCA was launched on October 3rd, 2005 at a general meeting for the entire community and our Executive was selected on October 26th. Please consider becoming a member and helping us with our work in your community. Membership cost only $10 per household per year.BECOME A MEMBER
