Neighbours meet to hear candidates for Wards 43 and 44 and to continue the work of building a Strong, Healthy and Peaceful Community

At the standing room only meeting at Eastview Public School, area residents gathered to hear speeches by the Candidates from Wards 43 and 44 and to participate in the First Annual Meeting of the Coronation Community Association of West Hill. Here CCA Vice President, Ron Wootton introduces the candidates.

Earlier, City Councillor David Soknacki had addressed the meeting expressing his appreciation for the work that had been done by the CCA and his admiration for those candidates willing to stand for election. David stated that he did not regret his decision to leave politics and said his farewell to the community who had supported him.

The meeting featured some excellent speeches by 14 of the candidates for City Council and the meeting was covered by both the Scarborough Mirror and the Bluffers Monitor. Four candidates for School Trustee, who had attended the meeting, were also given time to address the crowd.

Inspector Delgarno of 43 Division gave an update on Community Safety in the year following our founding meeting at the Boys and Girls Club. The first CCA Annual Meeting followed with President Barry Fraser giving a review of the accomplishments of the CCA in its first year and the ratification of the merger with the West Hill Neighbourhood Association, which passed with more than the two thirds majority required for a change to our Constitution. Treasurer Lisa Bieley presented her annual statement on the finances of the Association
